October 1 2007: Green Note open mic.

After the somewhat directionless shows of the previous month, LHC decided that what we really needed was to play short gigs

in small rooms to attentive audiences.

We'd been to the Green Note before, and liked the atmosphere (very friendly) and been pleasantly terrified by just how carefully

the audience listens. So we got up and played the Rabbit Lady of Godalming (which we've gota great, as yet unreleased, home recording of)

and Freaks of Chromomania (ditto).

We were slightly wobbly to begin with and I was nervous about improvising - it's been a while since I did a gig where I was nervous and it

was nice to play with that urgent feeling. And what's more, we didn't bore ourselves. People were very generous in their appreciation and

it's certainly avenue we'll want to return to.
